Kontaktbilder · Last updated 29 October 2026

Kontaktbilder helps you give contacts without a photo a picture. The app has no accounts, no servers of its own, no analytics, no ads and no tracking. I receive no data from you.

Your contacts

The app reads names, company, email addresses and photos of the contacts you share with it. This data stays on your iPhone. A contact is only changed when you explicitly confirm a photo with “Set as Contact Photo”.

What is sent to other services

• Google Image Search: The app opens Google Image Search in its built-in browser, with the contact's name (or email address) as the search term. This is the same as searching in Safari. Google's privacy policy applies to this search, and Google may set cookies as on any website.
• Gravatar: If a contact has an email address, the app asks Gravatar (Automattic) for a profile photo. Only a hashed checksum (SHA-256) of the address is sent, not the address itself.
• Company logo: For business email addresses, the app asks Google's icon service for the website icon of the company. Only the part after the @ is sent, for example “company.com”.
• Chosen image: When you long-press a search result, the app downloads the image from the website it is hosted on. As with any visit, that website sees your IP address.

What is stored on your iPhone

Only the “Later” list (which contacts you postponed). It is removed when you delete the app.

Image rights

Images from the internet may be protected by copyright. The app only stores a chosen image as a contact photo on your device, for your personal use.

Purchase

The purchase is handled entirely by Apple. I receive no payment or account details. Apple's privacy policy applies.
